Principal's Message

Welcome to a new school year!

 

I am Laura Martin, Principal of Hamilton Middle School. I bring with me over 20 years of experience at the middle school level within Long Beach Unified School District and a passion for academic and social development for all students.  I am excited to welcome students and their families to what will be a fun, interactive, and learning-centered school year. 

 

Our first day of school will be Tuesday, August 27th, and is a minimum day -
dismissal will be at 1:18pm.

 

  • Classes start at 8am (gates will open at 7:35am)

  • School dismissal is at 2:40pm  

 

Communication with our students and families is very important.  One way we will communicate with families is through ParentVue, therefore it is critical that all contact  information is up to date.  Please click here login to ParentVue and update your email address and phone numbers. If you need to update your home mailing address, please contact our office for an appointment to bring in the necessary documentation so we can update your information.

 

We will also use CANVAS to share information with families.  After August 28th, your child will have their class schedule, this is when you will be able to “pair” your account with theirs.  “Pairing” your email account will allow families to monitor student progress, communicate with teachers and access school announcements.  For directions on how to pair your CANVAS account with your child’s click here.  

 

Families are encouraged to view the Monday Message each week, which includes information about school events, parent involvement opportunities, and celebrations of our collective work.  You will be able to access the Monday Message from CANVAS.  Families are also encouraged to get involved at Hamilton - join School Site Council, ELAC, become a Volunteer in Public Schools.  Call the office to inquire about how you can get involved.

 

Our office will be open to the community beginning August 22nd, from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm and our staff is available to assist you each school day via phone at (562) 602-0302.
